External, independent researchers in the relevant field assess submitted manuscripts for originality, validity, and significance; AAIML uses external reviewers. **Principles for peer reviewers:** - Only agree to review submissions matching their subject expertise, and provide timely, accurate assessments. - Respect confidentiality of the review process and manuscript content. - Not use information from review for personal or organizational benefit, or to harm/discredit others. - Declare all potential conflicts of interest. - Not let manuscript origin, author nationality, religion, politics, gender, or commercial considerations influence review. - Be objective and constructive; avoid hostile, inflammatory, libellous, or derogatory remarks. - Provide accurate personal/professional information reflecting their expertise. - Never impersonate another person during review — considered a serious offense. **Review process:** A submitted manuscript is first checked against submission standards. If it fits, the editorial team identifies suitable peer reviewers from the relevant field for assessment and recommendations. **Peer review type used by AAIML:** Single-blind — reviewers know the authors' identities, but authors do not know who reviewed their manuscript. ### Plagiarism Policy - Plagiarized manuscripts are rejected; copying content from other published sources is strictly prohibited. - Only manuscripts with at least 90% original content should be submitted. - All submissions undergo a plagiarism check via "PlagScan" online plagiarism-checking software. - Manuscripts with less than 10% plagiarism are forwarded to the editorial team. - Manuscripts with 10–25% plagiarism are returned to the author to rewrite. - Manuscripts with more than 25% plagiarism are rejected outright. - If plagiarism is detected after publication, the journal investigates, contacts the author's institution and funding agencies, flags the affected PDF pages, and may formally retract the paper depending on severity. - Self-plagiarism is defined as reusing major portions of one's own copyrighted work verbatim (or near-verbatim) without citing the original source.
